Mishicot PD

This design was brand new for the Mishicot Police Department who requested a more modern design that fit in with their department patch. I utilized the shade of orange in the patch to create a twisting ribbon that spans the length of the car. I stuck with orange and white in order to unite the patch into the overall design. The fonts I chose were simple yet fit the personality of the vehicle, sleek and modern. The principles of hierarchy are clearly seen with the town’s name being smaller and the word “POLICE” significantly larger as it is the more important title.

This design was a personal experiment to see how I could create a leading line that accentuated the vehicle’s body lines. Typically departments have stripes or curving arches that are very flat. This ribbon style added a 3D appearance and was something unique I’d never seen a department do before.
