Belco Vehicle Solutions Website

Belco Vehicle Solutions is a company specializing in emergency vehicle upfitting. A large number of police departments in Wisconsin rely on Belco to install lights, sirens, interiors, and graphics on their vehicles. Their website was in dire need for an update.

I began my website redesign by viewing their previous website, interviewing the owners, and researching competitors’ websites. While I was itching to update their logo, the owner was quite sentimental. I managed to convince him to leave behind some of the outlines around the text and simplify the bottom text to sans serif.

My overall goal with the new site was to simplify and declutter. The previous website had overwhelming blocks of text, fast moving animations, and inconsistent typefaces.

I stuck with 2 different typefaces, shorter paragraphs separated by hierarchy and little animation for the new site.

In talking to the owners I learned that they did not like to offer appointment scheduling online through the website as the system often double booked. I eliminated this feature and replaced it with a “Request a Quote” form that allows them to collect contact information and details but not schedule anything.
